Johnson & Johnson MedTech Unveils Polyphonic Digital Ecosystem for Enhanced Surgical Collaboration

Johnson & Johnson MedTech announced the selective release of Polyphonic, a secure digital ecosystem aimed at creating a more connected surgical experience. Initially available to select hospitals and focused on laparoscopic surgery, Polyphonic offers software applications for surgical video management, telepresence, and collaborative planning. It addresses the challenges of managing large volumes of surgical video data, facilitating quicker and more secure sharing and editing. The ecosystem's features, such as cloud-based storage and advanced video editing tools, are designed to improve collaboration throughout the surgical lifecycle, offering significant time savings and efficiency improvements for surgical teams.

Polyphonic also aims to enhance connectivity and improve surgeon insights by providing personalized feedback on operating room performance. The ecosystem includes a video library for seamless video capture, editing, and sharing, and integrates robotic platform data to offer performance insights. Future releases will expand the digital surgery ecosystem with a studio for creators and developers and a marketplace for curated digital solutions. Johnson & Johnson MedTech plans to integrate Polyphonic with its Ottava soft-tissue surgery system, which will seek FDA clinical trial permissions later this year. The global commercial launch of Polyphonic is expected in 2025, promising to revolutionize surgical practice and collaboration.
