Dental Intelligence Partners Up and Further Pushes Analytics Into Market

Utah-based analytics and workflow automation platform for dental practices,
Dental Intelligence, which launched in 2015 is now focused on growing its team, expanding group and enterprise partnerships, as well as accelerating new product development.

Led by CEO Weston Lunsford, Dental Intelligence has assisted dentists to grow their practices and patient-focused applications with analytics, including the Patient Finder, Morning Huddle, and Today’s Follow-Ups. Dental Intelligence's products provide practices with actionable data, including provider-level information, easy-to-read dashboards, and tools to empower their team. The last four years have seen over 5,000 practices adopt the platform, with the company growing to 150 team members.

Last week, the company announced it had raised a $34 million in Series A funding from a California-based investment firm focusing on high-growth enterprise software companies, K1 Investment Management.

With a portion of the funding, Dental Intelligence will use the capital to acquire real-time and online appointment scheduling industry leader, LocanMed.

“This investment marks a big milestone in di.’s growth,” J Weston Lunsford, co-founder and CEO of Dental Intelligence said in a statement. “From the beginning, our company has had one simple purpose: helping dentists improve team performance, value, and overall culture in the practice. Everything we do emanates emotion, inspires engagement, and enables enrichment around that one purpose. This significant investment will accelerate di.’s ability to continue developing new tools so that providers can perform better dentistry and do more of it. K1’s strong operational capabilities and track record of building category leaders made them a perfect partner for us.”

Just last year, Patterson Dental and Dental Intelligence announced a new partnership to distribute a new mobile app and reporting product bundle.

Dental Intelligence has experienced incredible revenue growth, and K1's investment stands to propel their standing. The company's recent announcement to the Inc 5000 list of Fastest Growing Companies and Utah Business Fast 50 crystallizes their position in the industry as the world's leading software for dental practices.

"We are thrilled to partner with Weston and the Dental Intelligence team in this next chapter of growth and to support their mission of improving patient care,” Kellen Haines, Vice President at K1 announced in a press release. “Providing dentists with increased visibility into the performance of their practices and giving them the tools to be more successful in driving additional care is a win-win.”
