Welldoc Partners with Instacart to Enhance Cardiometabolic Health

Welldoc, a pioneer in AI-driven cardiometabolic health, has collaborated with Instacart, the premier grocery technology company in North America, to transform the delivery of healthcare to health plans and members. This partnership aims to improve health outcomes and reduce healthcare costs for individuals managing cardiometabolic conditions by improving access to quality care and nutritious food. To bridge the gap between nutrition and health, the partnership leverages Welldoc's digital health expertise and Instacart's advanced grocery technology and same-day delivery capabilities. Improved nutrition could potentially generate over $100 billion in savings for patients, taxpayers, providers, and insurers, including employer-funded and government-funded health plans such as Medicare and Medicaid.

Through this partnership, users of the Welldoc app will have the ability to import grocery lists to Instacart and purchase from a virtual storefront that showcases nutritious foods that are recommended for specific conditions. Additionally, Welldoc will integrate Instacart Health Fresh Funds, a stipend program that promotes healthy dining and can be paired with other payment methods, such as SNAP EBT. Tools such as dietary labeling, lists, recipes, and personalized meal plans are also available through Instacart. By utilizing Instacart's platform, Welldoc aims to increase the availability of nutritious food, promote sustainable healthy behaviors, and expand food-as-medicine programs across the country. Incorporating personalized, real-time insights into the daily routines of individuals with cardiometabolic conditions, Welldoc's comprehensive digital health platform offers AI-powered coaching for pre-diabetes, diabetes, and hypertension.
