Moreover, the area hosts some of the most innovative healthcare technology companies globally, and the executives listed this year have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, effectively balancing business success with a profound commitment to improving patient outcomes.

A board-certified anesthesiologist, Roy Winston serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Pacira BioSciences, where he oversees research and development and all customer-facing medical operations. With over 25 years of experience practicing anesthesiology and critical care medicine, Winston's impressive resume includes previously serving on The Georgia Composite State Board of Medical Examiners as VP and President Elect. This year we are also celebrating the work of Suzette DiMascio, the EVP of FFF Enterprises, a multibillion-dollar specialty pharmaceutical distributor. Finally, we have Dennis Harris, who began his professional career 46 years ago. Today, he is the VP of Global and Commercial Operations at Catalent Pharma Solutions, an S&P 500 company that supports its partners in introducing 200 new products and manufacturing over 70 billion doses each year.

1. Michael Anderson
Company: Immunologix Laboratories
Title: President and Chief Executive Officer

Michael Anderson is the President and Chief Executive Officer at Immunologix Laboratories, a company that offers GLP and GCP compliant laboratory capabilities focused on ligand binding based bioanalysis coupled with expert scientific consultation. Immunologix specializes in Immunogenicity, Neutralizing Antibody, PK, and Biomarker assays in support of preclinical and clinical studies. Anderson joined the company in 2014 as president and chief Scientific officer. In his current role, he is responsible for the executive management of the business, scientific and regulatory operations of Immunologix Laboratories.

Anderson has over 12 years of experience in regulated bioanalysis, all within the CRO industry. In particular, he has extensive experience with pharmacokinetic (PK), immunogenicity and neutralizing antibody assays, having worked on hundreds of different regulated immunoassays. He has also participated in numerous regulatory filings; and has significant experience in consulting on assay design and development. Anderson graduated from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University with a Ph.D. in immunology and from St. Bonaventure University with an undergraduate degree in biochemistry.

 

2. Roy Winston
Company: Pacira BioSciences, Inc.
Title: Chief Medical Officer

Roy Winston joined Pacira BioSciences in 2017 and serves as Chief Medical Officer. Winston oversees research and development and all customer-facing medical operations – in addition to medical strategy. Prior to his current role, Winston served as Chief Clinical Officer. His company, Pacira, is committed to providing a non-opioid option to as many patients as possible to redefine the role of opioids as rescue therapy only. The company is also developing innovative interventions to address debilitating conditions involving the sympathetic nervous system, such as cardiac electrical storm, chronic pain, and spasticity.

Winston has practiced anesthesiology and critical care medicine for over twenty-five years. Prior to joining Pacira full time, he was chair of Anesthesiology at Palm Beach Children’s Hospital and St. Mary’s Medical Center. Winston has also been on the faculty of The University of California at Irvine, Emory University and Florida State University. A board-certified anesthesiologist, he previously served on The Georgia Composite State Board of Medical Examiners as Vice President and President Elect and worked with the legislature to create and modify healthcare policy. Furthermore, Winston is the founder of LaserAway, a national aesthetic dermatology group. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

 

3. Leila Vargas
Company: AdaptHealth
Title: Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Leila Vargas joined AdaptHealth in 2021 as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing with 15 years of HME industry experience. Vargas leads AdaptHealth’s sales team, where she drives sales growth and market expansion across the country through training, education, motivation, and strategy. AdaptHealth is a national leader in providing patient-centered, healthcare-at-home solutions, including home medical equipment (HME), medical supplies, and related services. AdaptHealth services beneficiaries of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance payors, reaching approximately 3.9 million patients annually in all 50 states – through its network of approximately 725 locations in 47 states.

Vargas launched her sales career with Lincare before moving on to AeroCare Holdings, Inc., where she was consistently a Top Ten Sales Representative. This success led to expanded leadership roles in sales, marketing, operations, and corporate training. Vargas earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences with minors in Theater Performance and Psychology from Louisiana State University.

 

4. Theresa Dixon
Company: iRhythm Technologies, Inc.
Title: SVP of Global Value & Access

Theresa Dixon is the SVP at Global Value & Access of iRhythm Technologies, a leading digital healthcare company that creates trusted solutions that detect, predict, and prevent disease. Combining wearable biosensors and cloud-based data analytics with powerful proprietary algorithms, iRhythm distills data from millions of heartbeats into clinically actionable information.
Notably, Dixon first joined the company in 2019 as VP of market access and reimbursement.

Previously, Dixon was a VP of commercialization, market access and reimbursement at Avalere Health. Before that, she served as a VP of special projects in international at Stability Biologics/Mimedx. Earlier in her career, she worked with Smith+Nephew as a national director of health economics and reimbursement. Dixon earned an MBA from the University of Maryland, an MS in health care management from Marymount University, and an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Missouri, Columbia.

 

5. Rick Campins

Title: Senior Vice President of Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs

Rick Campins is the SVP of Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs of Avantor, a Fortune 500 company that provides mission-critical products and services to customers in the biopharma, healthcare, education & government, and advanced technologies & applied materials industries. Their portfolio is used in virtually every stage of the most important research, development and production activities in the industries they serve. Campins began his career in 1985. Before joining Avantor, he was a VP of enterprise quality at 3M. Before that, he served as a VP of quality and regulatory compliance at Danaher Corporation. Earlier in his career, he worked with the United States Air Force as a MAC ALCE operator and avionics technician. Campins graduated from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management with an MBA, from St. Cloud State University with an MS in regulatory affairs and services, and from Bethel University with an undergraduate degree in business administration.

 

6. Jeff Richard
Company: Probo Medical
Title: Chief Financial Officer

Jeff Richard began his professional career 35 years ago. Today, he is the Chief Financial Officer of Probo Medical, which was founded in 2014 to provide affordable, quality ultrasound probe sales and repair. They quickly grew from a small Indiana business into a global company with more than ten locations worldwide. Probo Medical is now the largest ultrasound equipment distributor in the world.

Richard first got his start in 1988 as an auditor at Pennzoil. From there, he went on to Cooper Industries, before eventually rising to CFO at DexKo Global, his most recent position prior to joining Probo Medical. Richard graduated from Louisiana State University with an undergraduate degree in accounting.

 

7. Kris Morico
Company: Baxter International Inc.
Title: Vice President of Environment, Health and Safety & Sustainability

Kris Morico has over 35 years of corporate, academic and professional society senior executive leadership experience in environmental, health and safety (EHS), enterprise risk mitigation, sustainability, ESG and engineering. During her career, she has led global EHS operations for a wide range of Fortune 100 companies. Presently, Morico serves as the VP of EHS and Sustainability for Baxter. In this role, she is the senior executive responsible for the EHS and Sustainability function at the company including proactively sustaining compliance, enterprise EHS risk assessment/mitigation and corporate ESG activities as well as advancing a step-change functional transformation across all of Baxter.

Notably, Morico earned a B.S. in Biology from Fairfield University, an M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Connecticut, a Master’s in Environmental Management from Yale University, and an Executive MBA from the University of Connecticut. She is also a licensed Professional Engineer in nine states; a Board-Certified Environmental Engineer in the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists; a Certified Safety Professional, and Diplomate Water Resources Engineer (one of approximately 700 globally).

 

8. Suzette DiMascio

Title: Executive Vice President

Suzette DiMascio is the Executive Vice President of FFF Enterprises. Founded in 1988, FFF Enterprises Inc. is a privately held, multibillion-dollar specialty pharmaceutical distributor specializing in plasma products, rare and orphan drugs, and vaccines. FFF Enterprises is the parent company of leading specialty infusion pharmacy Nufactor, Inc., as well as InCircle, LLC and RightNow Inventory™.

DiMascio has 28 years of experience. Before joining FFF Enterprises, she was the CEO at CSI Specialty Group. Before that, DiMascio served as a VP and board of directors at Florida Association of Personnel Services. Earlier in her career, she worked with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals as a director of national accounts and managed markets. DiMascio graduated from the University of California, Berkeley’s Haas School of Business with a venture capital executive leadership program. She also graduated from Rollins College with an undergraduate degree in organizational communications and marketing.

 

9. Hemali Joshi
Company: CAN Community Health
Title: SVP, Chief Data Officer

Hemali Joshi is a SVP and the Chief Data Officer for CAN Community Health, Inc., a not-for-profit community-based organization dedicated to treating, caring for, and overall wellness of people with HIV, viral Hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and other diseases. CAN’s mission is to inspire and contribute to the health and well-being of those affected by HIV, viral Hepatitis, and other STDs by providing the best care through outreach, integrated clinical practice, advocacy, education, and research. Joshi first joined the company in 2017.

In her current role, Joshi provides data-driven solutions and expertise in federal drug discount programs, QA/QI, and other healthcare programs. She got her start in 2008 as a Pharmacy Coordinator at Medco Health. Next, she went to OhioHealth, Corp., before eventually rising to Pharmacy Services Manager role (at Care Resource Community Health Center) and 340B Pharmacy Compliance Manager at CAN. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a BS in IT/GIS Systems, a BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Toledo, and most recently, a Masters in Legal Studies in Healthcare Law from the University of Oklahoma College of Law.

 

10. Dennis Harris

Title: Vice President of Global and Commercial Operations

Dennis Harris began his professional career 46 years ago. Today, he is the Vice President of Global and Commercial Operations at Catalent Pharma Solutions. An S&P 500® company, Catalent Pharma is the global leader in enabling pharma, biotech, and consumer health partners to optimize product development, launch, and full life-cycle supply for patients around the world. Catalent supports their partners in introducing 200 new products and manufacturing over 70 billion doses each year.

Since becoming a publicly traded company in 2014, Catalent Pharma has grown to become a community of approximately 19,000 workers who support over 7,000 products for more than 1,000 customers around the world. Harris got his start in 1977 as a planning manager at Baxter Healthcare. From there, he went on to Cardinal Health as a VP of supply chain presource, his most recent position prior to joining Catalent Pharma Solutions. Harris graduated from Queens University of Charlotte with an undergraduate degree in international business.

 

11. Danielle Carlson

Title: SVP of Pharmacy & CCS Health

Danielle Carlson is the Senior Vice President of Pharmacy & CCS Health at CCS Medical, a leading provider of collaborative care programs and home-delivered medical supplies, specializing in serving patients with chronic conditions, particularly diabetes. 14. Jeff Presson

Title: Field Vice President of Trade and Distribution

Jeff Presson is the Field Vice President of Trade and Distribution of ViiV Healthcare, a global specialist HIV company. As the VP of Sales and Commercial Operations for Wandercraft, Gary Viles creates: launch plans, sales activities, and commercial operational activities for his company’s business in the Americas. Kim McLeod, who has built an impressive 26-year professional career, currently serves as the Vice President of US Clinical Operations and Real World Evidence at AmerisourceBergen, a prominent global healthcare company, specializing in pharmaceutical distribution and providing solutions for manufacturers, pharmacies, and healthcare providers to improve access, efficiency, and reliability in both human and animal health. 22. Bob Champagne

Bob Champagne began his professional career 22 years ago. He holds a Doctorate of Pharmacy and has completed specialized residencies in oncology and hematology. Wetzstein is also Board Certified in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) and a licensed consultant pharmacist.

Notably, he joined the company in 2016 as a regional sales manager and was instrumental in the successful launch of Ameluz®.

Prior to joining Biofrontera, Baldyga held various leadership roles, including Regional Sales Manager at Valeant Pharmaceuticals and Sales Team Leader at Stiefel, a GSK company. He has also served on multiple advisory boards and launch committees, and is passionate about coaching and developing sales teams to drive results and foster professional growth. Baldyga earned his B.A. from the University of South Carolina and continues to be committed to advancing patient care and treatment options in the dermatology specialty.
