Premier Health Group is Going Global

Canadian-based Premier Health Group is on the hunt for new business opportunities and Cloud Practice is part of their latest catch. The company recently announced their acquisition of Cloud Practice – a medical software company with EMR, medical billing and online patient-portal products for the Canadian healthcare market – for $5 million.

“With this acquisition, we now have a medical software company with national reach, thus enabling us to build on our patient-centric technology platform that will integrate telemedicine, online booking and other premium services with our electronic medical records system,” Premier CEO Dr. Essam Hamza said in a release.

The newly combined companies will account for a client base of almost 300,000 patients. Jordan Visco, CEO of Cloud Practice, stated: “We are thrilled to be joining a progressive group such as Premier health. We are focused on delivering top quality service to Canada’s healthcare industry and we are confident that with Cloud Practice’s offerings combined with the Premier Health teams’ expertise and long-term vision, we can achieve considerable success”

Hamza also announced that as part of their international expansion plan, Premier has also entered into a strategic partnership with China’s 360 Health. The companies will collaborate on building an infrastructure that connects Canadian doctors with Chinese clients interested in obtaining second opinion services both remotely and in-person.

“We are very excited to be working with 360 Health as China continues to adopt a Family Practice primary care model and look forward to helping them establish themselves as a leader in primary care. This partnership represents an excellent opportunity for Premier to tap into the fastest growing telemedicine market globally,” said the CEO.

The Premier Health Group company is focused on developing innovative healthcare approaches that bring together the best of human skill-based expertise and cutting-edge technologies. The company also has a health-tech subsidiary, HealthVue, that focuses on the development of proprietary applications for use in connected primary care clinics with telemedicine and artificial intelligence capabilities.

Dr. Essam Hamza founded Premier Health in 2005 after completing his MD and Family Practice degree at the University of Alberta. Since then, he has cultivated the company into a thriving network of four inter-connected high-tech clinics serving over 100,000 patient and is looking toward new fast-growth opportunities to expand both domestically and internationally.
