Microsoft Partners with Leading Medical Systems to Enhance AI in Radiology

Microsoft has announced collaborations with Mass General Brigham and the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, along with its partner UW Health, to advance AI in medical imaging and address challenges in radiology. This initiative focuses on developing high-performing multimodal AI foundation models within the secure Microsoft Azure AI platform. These collaborations aim to enhance the Nuance suite of radiology applications, providing clinicians with AI-driven tools to improve workflow efficiency, accuracy, and patient care outcomes in a resource-constrained healthcare environment.

Mass General Brigham, a leader in healthcare innovation, will contribute its extensive multimodal data to develop AI/ML-based software and other clinical applications. Meanwhile, the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s School of Medicine and Public Health will focus on validating and implementing these technologies in clinical settings, aiming to bridge the gap between innovation and patient care. Microsoft, known for its commitment to responsible AI and technological advancements, will work with these institutions to ensure that AI tools in radiology are developed and deployed in ways that prioritize patient privacy and safety, ultimately making high-quality care more accessible and efficient.
