Magellan Healthcare Marks New Year With Digital Emotional Wellbeing Program Debut

In a bid to guide its members to improve their overall health and wellbeing, Magellan Healthcare, the healthcare business unit of Magellan Health, Inc., spent the better part of 2021 gearing up for the launch of its new Digital Emotional Wellbeing program. The new year marked the official kickoff of the program, which offers customized recommendations to participating Magellan patients with emotional issues.

Those using the NeuroFlow app or website will also have access to activities prioritizing overall health improvement, including evidence-based videos, articles, and behavioral trackers. Also built in are Magellan’s flagship digital cognitive behavioral therapy programs (DCBTs), FearFighter® for anxiety and MoodCalmer® for depression. These programs, which are recognized by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, give users a self-directed, personalized behavioral health resource toolkit, and all operations are hosted securely and anonymously on NeuroFlow's app and website.

Magellan's Digital Emotional Wellbeing program blends its own evidence-based resources and clinical support with NeuroFlow's cloud-based platform and unassailable engagement approach. Based on NeuroFlow data, 80% of individuals fill out their initial assessment, over 60% follow through during the first month, and 78% experience symptom reduction. Magellan is logging equally remarkable numbers: 57% of users indicated reduction of panic and fear emotions, and 80% reported noticeable improvement in sleep.
