Lexie Hearing, Bose Team Up on Hearing Aids

Audio product powerhouse Bose Corporation has teamed up with Lexie Hearing, a direct-to-consumer hearing aid provider, to incorporate the former’s self-fitting hearing aid tech into the latter’s stable of products. The new Lexie B1 Hearing Aids Powered By Bose give users access to impressive features for fitting, programing, and controlling their aids, all without requiring hearing evaluations, visits to doctors, or prescriptions.

“We selected Lexie Hearing as our partner to continue to deliver our industry-redefining technology because of our shared mission to make hearing aids more accessible and affordable,” said Bose’s Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development. “Bose remains committed to developing technologies and innovative experiences that improve how people hear the world around them.” Lexie, for its part, brings its proclivity for convenience considerations and “listening” to the customer to the deal—a must-have in a market segment where customer satisfaction is critical. Now, as the FDA readies a blanket clearance for the sale of over-the-counter hearing aids, the new partners are poised to top the market.

Terms of the collaboration will halt the production and sale of Bose SoundControl Hearing Aids, although the company will still offer support for customers using the products. Lexie B1 Hearing Aids Powered by Bose will be available at a starting price of $899.
