Aumet Eyes Egypt Expansion With Platform One Acquisition

Worldwide B2B healthcare marketplace Aumet, which was founded in Jordan and has headquarters in the U.S., has acquired healthcare supply-chain solutions startup Platform One for an undisclosed sum. The addition of Platform, which is based in Egypt, will help Aumet establish itself as a high-profile player in the Egyptian healthcare market.

Founded by Yahya Aquel in 2015, Aumet serves the MENA region in connecting pharmacies with suppliers. Its current platform covers upwards of 5,000 pharmacies. Platform One has earned a reputation as one of Egypt's leading digital business pharmaceutical solutions providers, and its marketplace includes more than 150 pharmaceutical suppliers as well as 600 pharmacies. The deal will entail Platform's team leading Aumet's foray into Egypt, while Aumet will be granted access to Platform's extensive user network.

Furthermore, Egypt-based pharmacies will be able to work with Aumet's comprehensive product suite. This includes Aumet MarketPlace, which connects pharmacies with pharmaceutical suppliers through a mobile app and web applications. Also featured are Aumet Pay, a payment gateway facilitating payments for pharmacies and their suppliers, and Aumet Pharmacy, a POS and inventory management software solution that allows pharmacists to manage cash flow and easily automate orders with the “Stock Auto-Replenishment” option connected to Aumet MarketPlace.
