2. Aviva McPherron

McPherron started at NuVasive in 2011 as Senior Director of Business Solutions. She also currently serves as a board member for the San Diego Mesa College Foundation, Inc. Previously, she was Director of Operations for Tapestry Solutions Inc. (a Boeing Company), and before that, Senior Project Manager for College Loan Corp. She got her start as a software consultant for Trilogy in 1998. McPherron earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Stanford University.
3. Achin Bhowmik

Dr. Achintya K. (Achin) Bhowmik is Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President of Engineering at Starkey, a privately-held medical devices company with more than 5,000 employees and operations in more than 100 countries. Dr. Bhowmik is on the faculty of Stanford University as an adjunct professor at the Stanford School of Medicine and the Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute. He has also held adjunct and guest professor positions at the University of California, Berkeley; the Liquid Crystal Institute of the Kent State University; Kyung Hee University, Seoul; and the Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar.
Dr. Bhowmik is a member of the Forbes Technology Council, board of trustees for the National Captioning Institute, board of directors for OpenCV, board of advisors for the Fung Institute for Engineering Leadership at the University of California, Berkeley, industry advisory board for the Institute for Engineering in Medicine and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Minnesota. He is also on the board of directors and advisors for several technology companies. Dr. Bhowmik has received numerous awards and honors, including the Healthcare Heroes award from the Business Journals, Industrial Distinguished Leader award from the Asia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association, IEEE Distinguished Industry Speaker, TIME’s Best Inventions, Red Dot Design award, Muse Design Award, and the Artificial Intelligence Excellence award. He has authored more than 200 publications, including two books and more than 80 granted patents. He received his PhD from Auburn University and his Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.

He is a member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) and the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers (ISPE).
5. Scott Burke

Scott Burke is the Chief Technology Officer at Verily, where he leads the software engineering, user experience, and data science teams and drives the development of innovative precision health platforms. He also served as Vice President of Engineering for WebMD. Burke started his career as a computational physicist at Hewlett-Packard. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California.
6. Michael Majoue

Michael Majoue is Director of Information Technology for Zynex Medical. He got his start as an implementation specialist for Micros Systems. Majoue earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from James Madison University.

Gaurang Patel has over 20 years of global IT experience in the biotech, medical device, and pharmaceutical industries. He currently serves as Vice President, Information Technology at Revance and leads a 40-member technology team across three key areas: business partnerships, center of excellence, and solution delivery. At Revance, Patel is actively building a critical technology solutions infrastructure to drive operational advancement as the company transitions from a clinical research and development company to a large-scale commercial organization, following the recent FDA approval of their flagship product DAXXIFY™ (daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm) for injection.
Patel is a pioneer in leveraging machine learning to optimize the healthcare system and aims to continue developing high performing teams and driving digital health solutions throughout his career. Prior to Revance, Patel worked for Allergen for over 15 years, ending as Director of Strategic Initiatives Management. He also worked for AbbVie as Executive Director of Business Information Management and for Amgen as a project manager. Patel earned an MBA from The Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine, and a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Wayne State University.
9. Kyle Ryan

Before Intuit, Ryan was Vice President of Technology for Sony Online Entertainment, a division of Sony Computer Entertainment’s console and PC gaming development. During his 14 years with Sony, Ryan led the development of and brought to market many products. He also defined and directed the creation of a reusable game engine to streamline the product development lifecycle, enabling faster time to market and dramatic development cost reductions. Ryan also spent some time as a private equity consultant with PwC, working closely with PE Firms to make intelligent technology investments. He graduated from the University of California, San Diego, with a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering.
10. Abhi Verma

Abhimanyu (Abhi) Verma is the Chief Technology Officer at SOPHiA GENETICS. Verma brings more than 17 years of life sciences industry experience in leading global multifunctional organizations to develop technology and data driven capabilities and platforms to accelerate drug R&D and patient access to breakthrough therapies. After his company’s acquisition, Tourtellotte served as Vice President of Product Innovation for BioClinica. 12. Frederick Peguero Sr.

Fred Peguero Sr. is Chief Information & Technology Officer at WorkCare, Inc., a U.S.-based occupational health services company based in Anaheim, California, where he leads a dedicated team of IT professionals. He has experience in setting strategic vision, building tactical plans, and acting as a change agent. Walker served as Vice President of Development Operations for the Health Sector of Johnson Matthey before its acquisition. In that role, he led an organization of more than 195 scientists and engineers across five sites in the U.S. and U.K. He was also responsible for more than 50 pipeline products (generic and originator) across all phases of development (preclinical to commercial launch), spanning small molecules, oligonucleotides, ADC linker/warheads, cannabinoids, alkaloids, and diverse heterocyclics. Walker spent less than a year as a research chemist at Merck before transitioning to Amgen, where he worked for more than 15 years, beginning as a scientist and working his way up to senior scientist, principal scientist, and finally Director of Synthetic Technologies and Engineering. He earned his PhD in organic chemistry from The University of British Columbia, his Bachelor of Science in chemistry from McGill University, and did his postdoctoral fellowship in organic/organometallic chemistry at MIT.
14. Pawan Parihar

16. David Kiklis

Massachusetts-based biotechnology research company Replimune appointed industry veteran David Kiklis as its Executive Director of Information Technology last year, and the company has enjoyed considerable benefits from Kiklis’ insights and expertise. Among other achievements, Replimune has announced recent success in its tumor-directed oncolytic immunotherapies, a milestone that has helped the company secure increased funding and higher stock prices in late 2022.

A dedicated entrepreneur with a passion for bringing life to new technological advances, Wen has founded half a dozen companies fueled by his breakthroughs, including Fourposition, an indoor GPS solution, and Dentul Inc., which reimagined medical device manufacturing globalization. He holds a Master of Science in electrical engineering and computer science from Caltech and a Bachelor of Science in the same subjects from the University of Science and Technology of China.
20. Michael Baglio

21. Nick Gianadda

Last year, Quadrant Biosciences appointed tech leader Nick Gianadda its new Chief Technology Officer. Gianadda has greatly helped the diagnostics company in its mission to advance the field of epigenetic diagnostics. At the same time, he has continued to direct educational opportunities for underprivileged youths as a member of the board of Computers for Children, and he sits on the board and holds the position of Chief Information Officer for the ALS and dementia palliative care nonprofit The Wetzel Foundation.

Naik is passionate about healthcare innovation and closing the digital divide for populations at risk of health inequities. He has a background in artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and information security. Prior to co-founding Memora, Naik’s work included tenures at The Design and Intelligence Laboratory at Georgia Tech, Google Safebrowsing Ops, and VMware. Kunaal received a Bachelor of Science in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Josh Siegel serves Los Angeles-based cultural experience healthcare company SameSky Health as its Chief Technology Officer, a post he has held since September 2021. Under Siegel’s leadership, the company has completed a successful rebrand from ConsejoSano, Inc., pivoting to a new mission of using data and technology to expand equitable access to healthcare for individuals all over the world.
Before he joined SameSky Health, Siegel worked as the Senior Vice President of Engineering at cloud-native healthcare software developer Inovalon. He also served as CTO of CareCloud for nearly five years. Siegel’s longest tenure to date was with Eliza Corporation, where he worked for over 12 years, ending as Systems Architect and Senior Director of Engineering.
24. Justin French

Justin French is the Founder and Chief Technology Officer of AngelEye Health, a leading provider of family engagement solutions for the NICU and PICU environments. He was a co-founder of AngelEye (2013), the mission of which is to deliver engagement solutions designed to bridge the gap between families and hospital care teams. This is accomplished by easing workflows and offering a more positive experience during the infant's hospital stay while elevating neonatal and pediatric patient outcomes. As CTO, French is currently responsible for AngelEye’s technical team, where he serves as the driving force behind software and hardware development, production, and technical customer support. He is also a member of the company’s leadership committee, bringing to the table his expertise in product development and innovation and a strong business development acumen that has contributed to the company’s robust expansion over the years.
Prior to AngelEye, French spent five years at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science as an applications systems analyst. He was recently featured on the Arkansas Money & Politics 2022 Tech Leaders list. French received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
25. Adam Yala

Adam Yala has dedicated his technological expertise to metaMe Health as its Chief Technology Officer since 2019. MetaMe has pushed the boundaries of prescription digital therapeutics for gastrointestinal conditions, and Yala’s achievements with the company have contributed to its recognition by industry voices including “60 Chicago Startups to Watch” and Chicago Inno’s “50 on Fire.”
Yala’s accomplishments in technological development and implementation can hardly be overstated. He has served in development positions for organizations including ConsenSys, 5thColumn, AGCO Corporation, and Options Away, creating new infrastructure using the most advanced industry software and training a new generation of tech-savvy developers. Yala earned a bachelor’s degree in agri-business, accounting, and computer science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
